We enjoyed: Our annual staycation- I love feeling away but having the 11 minute door to door drive. Highlights include Adam being 42 inches (total peanut)- just right to ride the big kid slides at our favorite Great Wolf Lodge. What wasn't as much of a highlight was Zachary not being able to, even with puffed up hair. Jacuzzi room extended swimming past the park close. And, we checked out the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory. Very cool! Maybe even a little creepy. The butterflies loved Adam's head!
I accepted: A new job. After weeks of some of the most intense anxiety I've ever experienced I made the right decision for my family. I now have new insight into those that deal with anxiety issues. It's not pleasant and is very real. I felt like I didn't even know myself. The job I turned down was an excellent opportunity and a huge career move, and it was an honor to be a candidate- but believing "the right thing at the wrong time is the wrong thing" helped me make my choice. I'm happy with my choice and had instant peace when I declined my generous and tempting offer for the more family friendly, true to myself job. I feel I now have the best of both worlds.
My heart was full: After visits with 3 old and dear friends. One for a weekend, one for coffee, and one for an evening while her niece slept. Talk about just what I needed. There's just something about that easy conversation, the not having to explain your life story as you chat, and throwing a few hysterical memories in that makes those visits irreplaceable to me.

I survived: The Avengers Movie in 3D. With a dead iPhone. If nothing else it makes me a better boy mom, and I liked being there with my husband on a date. I got popcorn. I was embarrassed to carry the 2 liter sized pop into the theater. Wow, what's a lot of pop.
I discovered: Maurice's. Best fitting pants ever. Good deals too.
I finally found: New couch pillows. After kids and a dog who likes to randomly lick things, it was time. Thank you TJ Maxx for a reasonable price and ones that I think are pretty darn cute! (child not included, unless it's 9 pm and he's wide awake. Then he's yours). I had to resign myself to the fact that decorative pillows are almost never on the end caps on clearance, and if they are it's for a reason- ugly or just one left.
Tee Ball Season began: Hubby's coaching so I need to make sure I get myself a comfortable outdoor chair! So glad they're close enough in age to be on the same team, the same summer camp, and the same class at church... makes it more fun and easier!
My eyes filled with tears: when my 5 year old exclaimed "I'm going to be a first grader in September".
The days are long, but the years ARE short.....

Do the kids lick the pillows too? JK. At least it isn't other bodily fluids that could be on there. :o)
You make me want to go to the Great Wolf Lodge. I keep trying to float the idea to the family, but the idea of a stay-cation isn't working.
Did you guys stay at the lodge? How long? Do you have any ideas as to how to reduce those nasty prices?
