Sorry for that.
Not spending everyday this summer with my kids has been hard on me this year. I miss our daily outings to one playground or another, little road trips, and the feeling of being free.
I realize the vast majority of the working world works all summer, but a 10 month job is what I've been accustomed to so it's a change! Having a sitter come to the home has many, many pros though- such as no one running out the door in the morning but me, and the individual attention they receive. Some cons to- such as pressure to have a place for everything and everything in its place, and of course my feelings about someone else being with them! It's been nice for the hubby though, he decided to forgo a long vacation this summer and is taking Wednesday's off. This has given him the chance to spend a day with the boys living it up- something he's never had and it's well deserved.
And, I know I'm lucky when I say that my kids live for each other (yes, there are some bickering moements in there, I'm not projecting inhuman children, ha). So much that if one is still sleeping, it's like Christmas morning type excitement waiting for the other to wake. So, together they are all day.
I wonder how long this mutual adoration will last.
We have been away the last 3 weekends. I've been packing, coming home, washing what I packed, and repacking it. We had some nice times waterfront, fishing, relaxing, etc. I'm not much for this hot, humid weather, but I've been making the best of it. I blogged Schroon Lake, and the otehr two trips were to Lake Chautauqua, and my in-laws new home in Napanee, ON (no Avril sightings, maybe next time!!)
