Food for Thought

On the tails of a popular HGTV show, I give you a grocery edition of "What You Get for the Money".

$1.19
A single bottle of Lipton Tea

OR
A whole bunch of bananas

$2.99
Fruit Loops ( I do love these)

OR
Kashi waffles, loaded with fiber and taste awesome

PLUS THIS!
A dozen eggs!

$3.99
Lay's Chips

OR
A whole watermelon

I could go on, but I won't.
So, while the junk constantly tempts me, i am learning to be more conscientious of not only my health, but the value in eating foods that are not as highly processed. While they are more work, you get a lot more for the money!
P.S.- Lay's have their place, don't get me wrong... and boy I could go for a cold Lipton Tea...

I'm trying to do the same thing! It's amazing how the cost breaks down when you really look at it, isn't it? Plus, I'm starting to pay attention to how sluggish I feel when I eat processed stuff.

That being said, Cheetos will always get some love from me. Just maybe less love.

Isn't it crazy to see the cost break down in different foods?!?!? We are trying to eat healthier as well and have been amazed at how much better we feel depending on what we eat. However, I agree with Jenn. There are ALWAYS certain foods that I can never stop myself from eating. If only I could get a handle on some portion control...
