While sitting here at my in-laws home, I am remembering a funny conversation....
It was probably right after we got married, 6 years ago. We were settling into our first apartment and Paul's parents were settling into their new house in Kingston, Ontario. I was overhearing Paul's discussion with his mom and dad on speaker phone (mind you, mom is on one phone, dad on another, so it's like a 3-way call). It went something like this:
Dad V.: "Well, we are picking paint colors. I told mom no pink! We've had pink at the last 3 houses we lived in."
Mom V.: "Dale! I like pink"
Paul: "So what are you going to go with?"
Dad V.: "We found a tan color called Baby Toes"
Mom: "It's pretty!"
Paul: "Dad, have you ever seen Baby Toes?"
Dad V: " Yeah. It looks like a medium tan, very neutral. I think it will look great"
Mom V: "We are going to have the painter do the whole house!"
Paul: "Sounds good" (exasperated)
As I lay here with the boys sleeping, I am looking at the hallway. The walls are about as pink and lovely as, well, Baby Toes.
