Here's a cute craft that even the most artistically clueless parent could do (me).

1. Potato
2. Fake feathers (you can buy almost anywhere this time of year), or construction paper cut into feathers, fringed on the edge and glued onto the cottony part of a q-tip.
3. Brown construction paper cut into a turkey head, and glued onto the cottony half a q-tip.
4. Stick the things made in #2 and # 3 into the potato to make it look like a turkey!
