Hey! We're In New York...

(Finish this movie line, and I'll mail you a check for $50.00)

We had an opportunity to get to The Big Apple this past week! It was just us, which was nice. To help ease our anxieties while away from the kids it helped that that at no point during the trip did we say "the kids would love this". It was busy, bustling, and we really made the most of our time. We had a lot of fun.
What topped my list was Eataly- Mario Batali's Italian Market, Ellis Island, The Union Square Holiday Market, and The NBC Studios Tour at Rockefeller Center. We even got to see SNL in mid rehearsal, with Fred Armisen at the news desk rehearsing his best Obama. My husband got his fix at the Apple Store on 5th Ave, along with about 1,000,000 others with the same idea. The Greyline Double Decker Bus Tour worked out very well for us, we hopped on and off all day and conquered Manhattan like it was our job (it also helped that Paul is like a human map memorizing freak of nature).
We got to visit with family while staying in a charming part of Brooklyn, and also got to meet Surya, my long time friend Amber's new baby.

Being tourists on the Double Decker Bus (well worth your time!!)

Ever had a hot dog with cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning, and scallions? No?? Make it a point on your next NYC visit to find this hole in the wall place Anthony Bourdain pointed us to on his show- AMAZING!

The Tree at Rockefeller & Starbucks (or $5.00 coffee, as Paul calls it). Very New York!
