I'm No Mush, But...

Catch me in the right mood and I'll succumb.

Perhaps it's the stores filled with hearts and candy, or all my TV shows with Valentine and love themes. Maybe it's because he's away and I'm alone tonight and thinking of 3 good friends who are without their husbands long term, for various reasons.

Let me be clear, just because I'm not a hopeless romantic does not mean my heart isn't overflowing with love. Even when I don't show it... this man...
He loves me. So much better than I love him.

How do I know? Well I know how I can be and that right there is enough to be sure.
I know in the fact that in nearly 9 years of marriage I can count on my hands the times he's used hurtful words. (peace, goodness)
I know because he's respectful enough not to look at that chick that even I checked out. (self-control, faithfulness)
I know because the of the way he works hard and is thankful even on the days he hates it. (patience, joy)
I know because of the way he speaks to our children (gentleness, love)
And, in the way he treats the waitress. (kindness)
Did I get them all? Yes, he selflessly shows all the attributes of a good Christian man
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.

And here's some further evidence that is quite meaningful to me. Love is blind? I hope so.

An obvious personal struggle that without a doubt phases me. Not him.
Through the UPS and DOWNS, and nearly everywhere in-between.
(2003, and 2006... I'm somewhere in-between now, hopefully closer to the right)

And, since way back when he's looked at me like that (right), and I still catch him now and then. Usually when my makeup is smeared under my eye and I'm wearing the sweats that I really should have thrown out in 2005.
(our first month or so dating, June 2000, and our wedding day May 31, 2003)

You're a lucky girl, and I know for a fact he's just as lucky!! A lovely example to set for your children.
