How to Eat a Cupcake

For our May book club selection, Meg Donohue brings us a cute and fairly easy read- perfect for this time of year. With themes of friendship and forgiveness it's one you could suggest as a beach read no problem. While not literarily fantastic, it was enjoyable.

Here's the synopsis from amazon.com:
Free-spirited Annie Quintana and sophisticated Julia St. Clair come from two different worlds. Yet, as the daughter of the St. Clairs' housekeeper, Annie grew up in Julia's San Francisco mansion and they forged a bond that only two little girls oblivious to class differences could—until a life-altering betrayal destroyed their friendship.
A decade later, Annie bakes to fill the void left in her heart by her mother's death, and a painful secret jeopardizes Julia's engagement to the man she loves. A chance reunion prompts the unlikely duo to open a cupcakery, but when a mysterious saboteur opens up old wounds, they must finally face the truth about their past or risk losing everything.

My strong suggestion to the author- when you describe such mouth watering desserts please, please, PLEASE include recipes!!

I love my book club. Not sure yet if I'm in it for the books, or the food & good company...and can you blame me? These were just the desserts.
One day I'll blog a list of our reads and how we do our club.
top left- peanut butter cup cupcakes, lower left- chocolate bourbon cupcake with strawberry buttercream, and on the right is the adorable giant chocolate cupcake cake with white frosting and coconut.
