Off to the happiest place on earth...

Well, we did it... we succumbed to the need to get away from dreary Western New York. On April 6th, we will board a plane to Orlando and bask in the goodness that Disney has to offer. We decided that for convenience and the experience of it that we would stay on their property again, this time the Pop Century Resort. This is a fun, family friendly place dedicated to the music of the 70's, 80's and 90's! . I am so excited! I am a little nervous about the potential crowds, but am secretly hoping that due to the poor economy and the fact that many schools have moved to a February break might ease the congestion of Easter holiday. Wishful, I know. But, with my mom and sister coming as well, we have a couple extra sets of eyes and hands to help with the kids, and it may provide an opportunity for a Disney date night. We'll see.
The best thing, though, is this is our first trip with the kids on a plane and to a place like this! Adam is already starting to grasp the concept, although he may think that "we are going on a trip, in our favorite rocket ship..." because that was one way I could get him to get excited about flying. (for those who don't know, that is part of the theme song for Little Einsteins, a popular Disney show). He totally knows that we are going to see Mickey, Goofy, and Donald. Also, he seems excited about Handy Manny, who is another favorite at our house. And, mention of the pools and swimming usually result in an enthusiastic "YES!". It makes the trip even more special!
I never knew the joy I would feel at being able to build memories with my family... Priceless.

now this is real excitement to go, i know it is not just you pretending to love disney for paul. this is "i get to take my kids to disney" joy! and while i'm happy for you, i am going to need some time to come up with a reason why carter keeps looking through his friends disney visit photo albums!! you are family #5! and i don't think..."we want to make the trip when Lilah is old enough to get it too" will suffice!!
