If I am going to follow the 12 steps, I guess amends will need to be made to my parents, who gave me the shaft in that department... thanks guys.
It does not seem to matter if it's a $20 mascara or a $1.99 bargain... they never seem to be just right!

My favorites at the moment are the Cover Girl Exact Eyelights in Black Ruby, Loreal Featherlash in Black brown, and Tarte Lash Hugger in Black. Any recommendations?

I have no real advice for you, save that I use Physician's Formula, and it seems to work ok for me. Lashes have never been a big problem for me, though. Now, we COULD talk about the recurring acne I seem to get....grrr....
Oh, and sadly, there was no Canadian Thanksgiving dinner in our household this year. I had big plans to cook one on Monday, then I realised that the Rev had a lunch meeting, plus a meeting right after dinner that day. Boo.
I wish I had read this before my favorite mascara was discontinued...*sigh*...Maybelline Lash Stylist was my bff in a bottle, but no longer....I will try some of your suggestions but I'm afraid there will never quite be a replacement to my all-time fav. :(
