Artistic and creative I am not.
In fact, I am a Pintrest failure and I don't know how to buy or hang curtains, and I pretty much disgrace any craft I've ever attempted.
But, I did learn how to do this neat craft idea that I did at the schools' Family Fun Night where I work. Kids of all ages (adults too) love getting a temporary hair color streak, and this is easy and cheap to do.
A great way to volunteer at your child's school or church function and do something that everyone likes, and will wash out at the next wash!
You'll need:
Pastel art chalk, not oil based ($6.99 @ Hobby Lobby, use a 40% off coupon too)
a spray bottle
hairdryer
flat iron
To do:
Take section of hair, as big or small as you like
Spritz it, get it wet but not soaked
Color the hair with the chalk of your choice
give it a quick blast with the hairdryer
go over it with the flat iron to seal
Tips:
for boys, color the tips of the hair or just color forward. for brush cuts basically color the head
for short/boys hair, skip the flat iron for safety, just give an extra blast with the heat of the hairdryer
For African American hair, lightly spritz and color, don't use the heat.
I went pink! |
